HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

Membership Eligibility

Shell New Orleans FCU field of membership is open to any person who lives, works, worships or attends school in either Orleans or Jefferson parish. Immediate family members of existing credit union members are also eligible to join the credit union. Immediate family members include your spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, stepparent, stepchild, grandchild, or grandparent.

How to Become a Member

  1. Stop by our lobby to open a savings (share) account that will qualify you for membership. Then you can immediately apply for our low-rate loans and open additional deposit accounts at the credit union. Please be sure to bring a valid ID with you.


  2. Open and print an enrollment application online. For the safety and security of your account and to avoid identity theft, your signature on the application is required to open an account; therefore, enrollment cannot be completed on-line.

You can then just drop off the application in our lobby.

If you would like to mail the application to us, you must get your signature on the application notarized. When you mail it, include two (2) forms of identity and a $5 check or money order along with the application. (No cash please.)

When opening any account, Shell New Orleans Federal Credit Union will comply with the U.S. Patriot Act. For more information on the Patriot Act, click here.

The easiest way to move your account from another financial institution to the credit union is to use our new member account switch kit. f you would like a switch kit mailed to you, please call Member Services at (504) 728-4853, or toll-free (866) FOR-MY-CU (367-6928); or e-mail us at service@shellnofcu.com.

Once a Member, Always a Member

Once you are a member of the credit union, you may remain a member for life, even if you terminate your employment with the business or association through which you originally qualified for membership.
